Dutch
Although it may not be one of the most famous European cuisines, Dutch food is really underrated. I've been truly impressed as I've explored Dutch cuisine and I'm happy to share some of my favorite Dutch dishes here!
A beloved bar snack and one of my favorite appetizers, Bitterballen are Dutch fried meatballs that are reminiscent of croquettes due to their decadent soft interior texture and crunchy breaded exterior. If you're looking for ultimate simplicity, try Uitsmijter, a Dutch ham, gouda and egg open-faced sandwich.
For dessert, Appelflappen or Dutch apple turnovers are one of my favorites for fall! They taste like apple pie wrapped in a perfectly light and flaky hand-held crust.
