This refreshing twist on a classic cocktail hails from Fleming's Steakhouse. Their Blueberry Lemon Drop is perfect for summer, but also melts away the winter blues. It takes just a few minutes to muddle and shake up. Cheers!
2ouncesStoli blueberri vodkaor other blueberry vodka–they use Pinnacle at Fleming’s
1ouncelemon juice
1ouncesimple syrup(equal parts sugar and water, cooked into a syrup and then cooled)
Instructions
Rub a lemon wedge over the rim of a martini glass and dip in raw sugar to create a sugar rim. Add 2 blueberries to the glass and set aside.
In a cocktail shaker, muddle 12 remaining blueberries. Add ice, blueberry vodka, lemon juice, and simple syrup; shake and then strain into the martini glass (use a small fine mesh sieve to remove all the blueberry skins and seeds). Serve immediately.
Notes
I've made this recipe multiple times with both blueberry vodka and regular vodka on different occasions. Regular vodka will definitely yield a delicious cocktail if that's all you have!
Also note that blueberries come in different sizes, and some will yield more color than others when muddled into this drink. If your blueberries aren't really in season, add a few extra to get more blueberry color and flavor into the drink.
